Description
The Mainport Delta website was realised in the framework of the Rhine-Scheldt Delta cooperation (RSD), a cross-border initiative between a number of Dutch and Belgian authorities, such as the provinces of Antwerp, East- and West-Flanders, North-Brabant, Zeeland and South-Holland, the cities of Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Breda, Middelburg and Rotterdam, and the ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, Zeebrugge, Ostend, Zeeland Seaports and Dordrecht.
In the Rhine-Scheldt Delta cooperation, directors of governments, private enterprises and environmental organisations work together closely to the development of the delta, in the field of opportunities and interests for economics, spatial planning, mobility, ecology, culture, tourism and recreation.
The Mainport Delta website is the result of the RSD-GIS project. The project aims to promote cross-border consultation and cross-border cooperation between the partners of the Rhine-Scheldt Delta organisation, by means of setting up and maintaining a geographic information system (GIS). This GIS is directed to industrial site information for the benefit of promotion and acquisition.
