Maguire Art Works is a collection of art made by Michael and Susan Maguire Welcome to the website of Michael and Susan Maguire. We are artists who work primarily, but not exclusively, with ceramics/photography. We are interested in all aspects of artistic tradition, process, and in the visual integrity of the form. Content and form are inseparable from each other and from the processes and the studio. Unlimited combinations and possibilities continue to motivate us while working with a process that has no closure. Mike was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and grew up in Big Horn, Wyoming. Susan was born in Galveston, Texas, and grew up in Columbia, Missouri. We both hold MFA degrees, Mike from the University of Iowa, and Susan from Pratt Institute. We both have exhibited nationally and internationally, have given lectures and workshops at universities and organizations, and our work is included in public and private collections around the country. The Maguire’s have resided in Waco, Texas since 2001, where Mike is in the Visual Arts Department at McLennan Community College and Susan is in the Department of Art at Baylor University.
