Title

Midwest Area Gaming Enthusiasts

Description

M.A.G.E. (or Midwest Area Gaming Enthusiasts) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of hobby gaming. M.A.G.E. was officially incorporated in 1993, but many of those involved had been a part of a much older, if looser, group of gamers in the area.

The primary function of M.A.G.E. is to encourage the hobby of gaming. To do this we have monthly game days and two major conventions . At game days you can expect to find 20 - 50 people spending the day, playing any number or type of games. At a game day, there are is no formal schedule, like you usually find at a convention. You may bring a game and share it, or have someone there teach you a new game. One of the great things about game days is that most games are being run in a way that allows and encourages beginners. We hold two major conventions, MAGE-CON South , held in Sioux City, IA. over Labor Day weekend and MAGE-CON North , held in Sioux Falls, SD. in the late spring. Also in January there is a smaller convention called VERMIN-CON held in Vermillion, SD. There is something for everyone at a convention: great games, contests, miniatures, costumes, seminars, artwork and special guests. M.A.G.E. also is a contact point for local gamers. We keep a list of area gamers and can help you locate upcoming games and events. If you are looking for a game master or player in your area you could call the M.A.G.E. contact person in your area and get some help.

M.A.G.E. is a non-profit business. It is run by board members and executive officers at quarterly business meetings. Anyone who has attended one of our conventions, and attends game days can volunteer to be a board member. Our meetings are open to the public and are usually held at game days. If you are interested in finding out more about M.A.G.E. membership, contact any officer or board member .
