While every experience is different, we've been where you are and know how hard it is to get products for your premature or low birth weight baby.
After 8 weeks of bedrest (2 of which were in the hospital with my feet higher than my head) Michael decided he had enough of staying inside me. He had places to go, people to see, and things to do! So on September 26th, at 25-1/2 weeks gestation, Michael came into the world. It started as a world of tubes and wires, IVs and monitors.
After a week in the hospital we were told that his jaundice was getting worse and they were worried about brain damage so a complete blood exchange was performed which was successful. A couple of days after that it was determined that he needed a PDA ligation (a duct from your heart to your lungs that should close when you're born but doesn't in approximately 40% of premature babies) to close the duct. He also was showing that he didn't like his ventilator. So off we went to Seattle.
