Description
Established in May 1931, Family & Children's Services of Lunenburg County is a community based Agency that exists to protect children up to the age of 16 from abuse and neglect. In it's employ is a multi-disciplinary group of professionals such as Registered Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Child and Youth Care Workers and a Family Therapist. The Agency also supports the operation of the Family Support Centre to offer a range of prevention services.
Through a variety of services, the Agency works with families to assist them in obtaining the tools and resources required to maintain healthy relationships. Where necessary, the Agency provides alternate care for children through temporary foster care. Adoption and expectant/single parent services are also available.
Family & Children's Services is a charitable, non-profit Agency, funded by the Department of Community Services and operated under the mandate of the Children and Family Services Act. We are located in the Town of Bridgewater on Nova Scotia's South Shore.
