About the Branch

The São Paulo Branch was directed for 22 years by Dr. Ricardo R.Brentani. During this period, research focused on three broad areas relevant to the understanding of the causes of cancer and the identification of targets for diagnostics or therapeutic intervention. Under Dr. Brentani's leadership, a significant number of research publications were published in leading international journals by Branch investigators. Moreover, a fruitful collaboration with the Hospital do Câncer (Fundação Antonio Prudente) resulted in the establishment of important research endeavors, particularly related to genome sequencing projects, that paved the way for a series of very successful research collaborations both in Brazil and internationally.
