LU First Response recruits undergo a rigorous 40+ hour training and evaluation process before being chosen for the team. Over the course of two weekends, theory includes:
Please note, the LU EFRT First Responders respond to every campus emergency ON FOOT or on Bike. As such, we have no ambulance, vehical, rig, etc. Our response times are often less than 1 minute from time of call. Our 3 responders on call may be anywhere on campus when they are on duty, even in class. When the radio tones sound and the call information is transmitted, responders literally "run" on a call or use bicycles.
