- Dooley Fields were built in 1958 on the private property of Holy Spirit Parish School, Dioceses of Sacramento. Dooley Fields are named in the honor of Lawrence Bertolani, a Sacramento firefighter who was involved in the creating and maintaining of the baseball diamonds. Lawrence Bertolani's nickname was "Dooley". For more than three decades, Dooley spent many days of his life leaving his backyard gate to maintain the diamonds so that the children of our area can play at this special ballpark.
