The picture above was taken in the late 70's. I was much younger...hmm, in some ways I was older. Below is a more recent picture
I was born in Louisiana and have lived here for virtually all my life, except for a 3-month stay in Marine City, Michigan (a lovely little town on the St. Clair River) back in the 70's. I suppose I could say that I have always been different, I was an unusual child, and other mundane-sounding things, but everybody's different, everybody's unusual, and you're just as unique as I am. But enough about you, it's all about me babe. (Joking here)
As a child, I enjoyed art, but stopped pursuing it when I became convinced that I had no talent. For years I believed this, although, in my late teens, I made a few sketches. When I was 27 years old, I became interested in art again, and when I saw the oil paintings that my sister had done, I knew what I wanted to do. My first attempt was almost my last. The Ultramarine Blue got all over my hands, and I had a mess. Now, I can laugh at the frustration!
