Title

Loudon Machine, Inc.

Description

Established in 1982, with the owner having 17 years previous machining experience, 10 years bindery experience, and influenced by the close proximity of two of the world’s dominant printing companies, Loudon quickly matured into what has become the leading supplier of remanufactured bindery equipment for the printing industry.

Growth came quickly, and a move to Effingham in 1987 provided not only much needed space, but also access to an excellent interstate and railroad transportation network for the shipping and receiving of equipment world wide. Loudon Machine, Inc. (LMI) operates out of a 34,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility, and employs 17 skilled full-time employees.

When clients are in need of bindery equipment, Loudon helps them determine whether they should buy used or remanufactured equipment or have their own equipment remanufactured. LMI also sells high quality used equipment and works with customers to locate the equipment they need. “Remanufacturing can save printers tremendous amounts of money over the purchase of new equipment.” According to LMI founder and owner, Peter Brandenburger, “Purchasing a remanufactured machine can save the buyer 35 to 50 percent of the cost of a new model without loosing quality, abilities, or warranty. With some pieces of equipment selling new for 1 million dollars, the purchase of a remanufactured machine can mean significant savings.
