Procarent traces its origins to 1893 where it began as the Louisville Carriage Company. Through the years, the company merged with other local transportation companies and underwent several name changes. Today, Yellow Cab of Louisville, along with its sister cab companies Cardinal Cab and Checker Cab, is the largest taxicab service in the Greater Louisville area with over 250 taxis. The company was acquired by Interlock Industries in 1982.
