- Our original company name, V. Loria & Sons, was founded in 1912 by Italian immigrant Verniere Loria (c.1887-1937) in New York City, in the Bowery section of lower Manhattan. A cabinetmaker by trade, Verniere crafted all of the pool tables by hand until his untimely death. His son, Roger (1914-1996) took over and carried on his family's proud tradition through the Great Depression and for the next five decades.
