Description
Lord Henry was born on 12.29.99 in Spokane, WA at the Hite's Tivio Kennel, the only red/white dog out of a litter of eight. His pedigree was distinguished: Allerei's Tax Refund out of Tivio's Impromptu. He was very independent from the start and you could see he was not destined to be an ordinary whippet. That has certainly proved to be the case.
After an inauspicious start in Redmond where he finished fifth out of five puppies in the ring, He went on to an AKC sanction match, where he competed for best in show twice, once with the adult dogs and once with the puppies(the Irish Setter beat him both times!). Since then, he has been an active show dog. He finished his Canadian Championship just a day before he turned thirteen months. He shows often in Canada, where he is currently the #1 Whippet in the country, and the #8 Hound. He has won a Hound Specialty Best in Specialty and two Best in Shows there. He also has an International Championship and a Senior Courser title to go along with his American and Canadian Conformation Championships. Lord Henry recently competed at the AKC/Eukanuba National Invitational Championship, in Long Beach, where he won a First Award of Merit, finishing third to the #1 and #2 Whippets in the US.
Lord Henry lives with his parents, two cats, and Sanani, a five year old former Top Twenty Whippet female, with whom he had a litter of eight red/white puppies on 10/26/03. He has two human brothers and three human sisters. He loves to look out his bay window at a downtown park where dogs and people abound. He also loves to go shopping with his mother and running with his playmate, an English Whippet, Sophi. He also has a Schnauzer friend, Murphy, who lives across the street. Lord Henry regularly visits Seattle area hospitals where, as a Delta Society Registered Therapy Dog, he makes rounds on the patients who depend on him for emotional and therapeutic support. After a vigorous hour of running nearly every day, LH loves to just lie and daydream of a world where whippets are mayors, presidents and run for congress, not to mention where they are waited on hand and foot by their human subjects, much like the way it is around here!
