Title
Napa Valley Winery. Lokoya. Cabernet Sauvignon. California Wines. Parker rated.
Description
Each Lokoya wine is identified with the terroir of Napa's mountain vineyards. Sparse soils, high elevations, good drainage and the cool climates of the mountains and benches form the backbone for intense Cabernet Sauvignon. Our efforts are to plant Lokoya in the vineyard, choosing sites, lots, and indeed rows of vines, that express the terroir and identity of their location through their wines.
The Lokoya name honors the Native American tribe who lived on Mount Veeder in the western mountains of the Napa Valley prior to the arrival of viticulture in the 19th century. Paying tribute to those who farmed these Napa soils before us, Lokoya Cabernets reflect the soils and microclimates of the Napa Valley.
Winemaker Chris Carpenter creates Lokoya wines in tandem with his vineyard managers. Together, they grow and produce these rare and special wines that seek to showcase the distinctive character of each vineyard.
