- Congratulations to the libraries selected to participate in the project! You may have been wondering what happened in regard to the application that your library submitted earlier this year. Well, this project has been an exercise in evolution. Our initial plans for the project changed because as we progressed with planning and with evaluation of the applications, it became evident that libraries whose websites are embedded in jurisdictional portals would not be able to use the content management system that was envisioned as the central feature of the project. A significant number of the libraries that applied are in fact in this situation, so we have redesigned the project to have two approaches, “Hosted” and “Non-Hosted”. Participation in the Non-Hosted approach is offered to all libraries that submitted an application, while participation in the Hosted approach is limited to those libraries that can have their websites hosted on a third-party (i.e., Infopeople) server.
