Description
Our passion is showing our dogs. Our dogs, love the sport of conformation. We have alot of fun with them, win or lose. They are our lives. We love our dogs. They are first our family members then show dogs. We live on a 3 acre Pecan Orchard. Our dogs LOVE to eat em' too. They spend most of the day, chasing squirrels, playing in their baby pools. Playing with us. Oh, and of course 3 times a day, they all get together for choir practice :) Ridgebacks are really not known for barking much. Mine all get together and have a howling session. It's hilarious to see and to hear. We have been showing and breeding the RR's almost 20 years and this breed has such wonderful quality and such beauty. We are hooked for life.
We do give limited registrations on pups with NO RIDGE or GENETIC DEFECTS. If you purchase a "PET QUALITY" pup from us meaning that the dog is not up to breed standards. You will received a limited registration with AKC and or a co-owned checkmark with UKC as they do not provide "limited registrations". What is a LIMITED REGISTRATION? It is when the dog is limited as to not being able to show the dog in conformation or get the puppies registered from the bitch or sire. We will also require that the dog or bitch be spayed or neutered. It does NOT mean that the dog cannot be entered in other events as lure coursing, weight pull, obedience, etc.
We encourage all of our puppy owners that purchase a SHOW QUALITY dog to show the dog or bitch in a UKC or AKC conformation. If you live within a neighboring state from Texas, Lionhounds will show the dog for you at NO COST except that you will pay the cost of the shows including transporting the dog or bitch to me. If you purchase a "show quality" dog and have no intentions of showing the dog/bitch, you will receive a "limited" registration. If you purchase a SHOW PUP for a "pet price", you will receive a Limited Registration.
