SLTC's facility is set on 19 acres with beautiful views of Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain. The administration building and ELP training building are located within a half mile circular drive, which surrounds the campus. The present main classroom building is 3,000 square feet and includes two business offices, a library, two large classrooms, a break room and outside decks. The outside training yard includes a 10-acre pole yard, heavy equipment garage, 4 Student Tool Sheds, Materials & tool shop, 2 outdoor pavilions and other required learning apparatus.
A strong relationship with utilities, manufacturers, and contractors has enabled Southeast Lineman Training Center to deliver training with the most modern tools and hardware. This enables graduates to be familiar with current tools, provides a more realistic training environment, and creates a more qualified employee. SLTC also provides their expertise and facilities to manufacturers for testing of design of new tools, hardware, and other products.
Southeast Lineman Training Center is located at the base of Lookout Mountain in Northwest Georgia. Just 20 miles from Chattanooga, Tennessee, it is the ideal location for a school - or a vacation! This area is very scenic, with nearby attractions like Cloudland Canyon State Park, Sequoyah Caverns, and Raccoon Mountain, all within a few miles. Area outdoor activities include: hunting, world class hang-gliding, caving, rock climbing, mountain biking, white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing-and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is less than two hours away.
