Title
Limerick Today: News, Sport, Jobs, Property, Cars, Entertainments & More
Description
The decades have not eroded its standard-bearer status as a leading former of opinion, and an engine for economic and social improvement in Limerick city and county and the Mid-West region.
The very first edition of the Limerick Leader hit the streets on Friday, August 9, 1889. Just four pages, it was a humble beginning. But even then, the Limerick Leader had the best writers and a clear editorial ethos. Fast forward to the 21st century, and the Limerick Leader has two tabloid editions circulating in the city, published every Monday and Wednesday morning; its sister title the Limerick Chronicle, printed on Tuesday morning; and two broadsheet newspapers for the weekend, for the county readership (published Wednesday evenings) and the city (printed Thursday afternoons).
However, the fundamentals have not altered. Over a century since its first edition, the newspaper maintains its policies in support of its readers and their welfare.
