About Robert
I'm a guy living on his own in Redlands, CA. I work, eat, sleep, have friends and fun, and go to church here. My family is from Southern California, so the fruit has not fallen very far from the tree. I grew up closer to Pasadena and learned early on of a love for music and technology. I was a geek before it was cool to be a geek. I attended college at the University of Redlands with a Music Education major. I now have a job in marketing at ESRI, if you can believe that, and have taken a healthy amount of time learning about web application development and the inner-workings of the blogosphere.
About Life of Robert
Life of Robert is my blog where I write about things happening in my life and around it. This started during my senior year of college on an old GeoCities account that I updated manually; I had no fancy software to archive old entries automatically, just my patience in updating file names and links. One of my entries had the honor of turning into an article in the Student Leadership Journal, a magazine for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship student leaders.
The blog died for a couple of years, and the original content has been tragically (or thankfully?) lost. At some point, I stumbled on Blogger and was amazed that what I had done manually was now entirely automated. Some quick research into the blogging phenomena led me to GreyMatter, which I tried for about an hour, then on the MovableType. At this, I had found a home for my joy of writing short entries and design without the manual muck I remembered.
