- Following 17 years of civil war in Lebanon, the Government embarked in 1993 in a massive reconstruction program consisting of rebuilding the infrastructure of the country, as well as in modernizing its institutions. Part of that program was the appointment of a private operator to “Build, Operate and Transfer” the national postal services as of October 1998. That was the beginning of Libanpost.
