When Len Libby Candies first opened for business in 1926, you couldn't have found a better example of Yankee work ethic than that of owner Len Libby. At first, Mr. Libby apprenticed with several candy-makers, and later worked as master candy-maker in the Portland area for several decades. When he retired, he found he couldn't stay away from candy-making, so he opened his own shop near Higgins Beach in Scarborough, ME.
