Legionnaires Square Dance Club
Description
The Legionnaires meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month for our regular dances, starting with a plus workshop at 7:30 PM, followed by dancing from 8 to 10:30 PM. We normally begin classes in September of each year, which are held on Thursdays beginning at 7:30 PM. These times are subject to change, so check back with this site for the latest times -- we will update them when we change!
Dances are held at Landmark Hall in Taylors, SC. Landmark Hall is unique in that it was built with Square Dancing in mind. We have 5400 square feet of dancing space on wooden flooring. Sound is never a problem, but for those who do have a little trouble hearing, the club furnishes portable hearing devices which are loaned to dancers free of charge.
Donnie DeVore is our caller, and our format is for alternating mainstream and plus tips, with every other tip being the alternate level. His wife, Martha, helps keep Donnie straight, and adds to our dancing group by participating. Donnie accepts requests for singing calls, and will honor those for which he has the music.
