Description
Ray Clements, the founder of Legacy Software owned an advertising company in the 1980s, long before getting involved in print estimating software. Using desktop publishing before it was an accepted term, the company designed ads for small- and medium-sized businesses, and at least one Fortune 500 company. Some of the businesses were impressed with the ads and asked that other media be designed for them. Reluctantly at first, this was done. Volume increased to the point where it was feasible to add a printing press to the operation.
By the mid to late 80s, other print shops were starting to add desktop capabilities to their own operations. Legacy personnel were in a position to lend training assistance to those companies. Later, Legacy, would be authorized by a computer company to be a dealer for desktop publishing computers to the printing industry.
Legacy has been involved with the printing industry and print estimating software for over 15 years. Legacy also develops customized software for businesses in other industries.
