- The Learning Disabilities Association of New York City (LDA of NYC) has a twofold mission: to facilitate access to needed services for all New Yorkers with learning disabilities, especially those in the more disadvantaged communities, and to provide support to those individuals and their families. To fulfill this mission, LDA of NYC currently operates three main programs: The Learning Disabilities Helpline, The Latino Outreach Program, and The Adult Support Group. The agency currently employs 3 full-time staff members and three people who work on a part-time basis. Full-time staff consists of the Executive Director, an Outreach Coordinator, and a Client Resource Manager for the Helpline. Part-time staff members run the Adult Support Group of Manhattan, while 15-20 volunteers, including Board Members, are used to assist on special projects and during peak periods of need.
