Description
The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership, Inc. is a non-profit watershed association. It goal is to protect the bassin (or watershed) of the Lawrence brook, a scenic succession of lakes. This 48-square-mile watershed extends in 5 New Jersey towns, North Brunswick, South Brunswick, East Brunswick, the Borough of Milltown, and the City of New Brunswick.
Most of our activities are done by volunteers, of all ages, and of all backgrounds (scientists, teachers, engineers, college students, high school students, retirees, canoeists, bicycle riders, nature lovers, fishermen, parent-and-child teams, and most of all, people who care about their community's natural resources). We are always looking for volunteers; you are welcome to join us.
The activities of this watershed association include : - free conferences - riverside cleanups where youth groups, boys scouts, local associations participate et learn about keeping the areas clean and beautiful. - educational nature walks where participant can learn about plants, ecosystems, etc. - simple water testings of the waterways (chemical, biological, physical) - etc.
