Title
Welcome to the Little Big Horn Associates!
Description
The War Between the States made George Armstrong Custer a Northern hero, but it was the Battle of the Little Big Horn that made him a legend. The Little Big Horn Associates is an organization for those individuals who have an interest in the life and times of General Custer. It is dedicated to seeking the truth about all aspects of this famous battle and the settlement of the West.
The first Little Big Horn Associates Newsletter was dated January 1967. Our members currently include nationally known scholars such as Dr. Paul Hutton, Dr. Robert M. Utley, and Jeffry Wert, along with many other writers. Presently, there are about 1,000 members in the United States and around the world. The Associates is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is governed by an elected Board of seven members, and its administration and publication functions are performed by qualified members without compensation. All expenses are paid from dues, donations, and special projects.
LBHA continues to publish a newsletter ten times a year that contains historical articles, service advertisements, and news of the organization and meetings. The award winning Research Review: The Journal of the Little Big Horn Associates is published twice a year and features full color art as well as articles that have been researched and written by some of the most respected Custer scholars in the nation. Regular members receive their publications by bulk mail while donor and sustaining members receive theirs by first class mail. A portion of the dues from donor and sustaining members is used to assist the organization in its study and reporting of historical facts.
