About our site Judy Bean opened a store in York Beach, Maine as a way to pay for college. This summer venture began a career. After a move to Ogunquit, Maine and a change of focus from swimwear to clothing and accessories THE LAZY DAISY was born. When her sister Susie Bean Lemire and husband Doug sold their pizza/convenience store in Lincolnville Beach, Maine, they moved home to York with the enthusiasm for a different type of retail sales.
