We began planning our new adventure when we first discovered La Veta. The area has exceeded our expectations and fulfilled many of our dreams, including La Veta Realty and Second Chance Ranch.
My wife and I relocated to La Veta from Steamboat Springs. We were looking for a small friendly town in Southern Colorado. We wanted a mountain area of beauty and tranquility, where newcomers felt welcome. A rural setting but still with convenient access to larger urban areas. We found it all, in La Veta. And so can you.

In Steamboat for 10 years, I was involved in real estate and business investments including Soda Creek Western Mercantile and Schaefer Outfitter. Prior to that we spent many years in Santa Fe, where I served as President of Bank of Santa Fe. My other activities included serving as a Director of Bank of Albuquerque, the Santa Fe Economic Development Council, The State Business Development Council on Venture Capital and other Boards and Committees in both the Public and the Private sector.
