- Green Emporium Restaurant/Gallery opened its doors on June 9, 1994. We called ourselves an Emporium because we wanted to offer more than food, which set us apart from other restaurants in Western Massachusetts. We started out with an empty former church meetinghouse (circa 1834) and lots of big ideas. We began with a small kitchen and dining area, and filled the rest of the building (as much as we could) with local food products and crafts.
