Since the release one year ago of his multi-platinum third album Mi Sangre (My Blood), Juanes has topped both album sales and singles charts throughout Latin America, Europe and America. The subsequent “Mi Sangre Tour” has filled arenas in the U.S. (such as Madison Square Garden & Miami’s “American Airlines Arena”), and stadiums and bullrings across all of Latin America, Spain, Germany and more. Now, Latin Rock’s biggest star has brought the highly praised “Mi Sangre Tour” home to his native Colombia. As a show of national pride and gesture of gratitude for all of Colombia’s support, Juanes will perform a free concert in Medellin in celebration of the city’s 330th Anniversary. Set to take place this coming Sunday, October 16th, over 100,000 free tickets are being distributed via area youth groups, media outlets and city government. Named as one of TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” the nine-time Latin Grammy winner will take the stage to perform many of his numerous songs that have become virtual anthems throughout Colombia and established record setting runs atop Colombian radio playlists – holding down #1 for numerous months at a time. Following Juanes’ shows in Colombia, the songwriting guitarist will perform on the “MTVLA Video Music Awards” broadcast, where he is nominated for FIVE awards, including: ARTIST OF THE YEAR - BEST ROCK ARTIST -BEST MALE ARTIST - BEST VIDEO (“La Camisa Negra”) & BEST ARTIST CENTER.
