Michael Landy founded Landy Beef International, Inc. in the summer of 1984.Prior to starting Landy Beef International, Mr. Landy was engaged as an officer in several family owned regional beef slaughter and processing facilities; Landy Packing Company, Inc., Landy of Wisconsin, Inc., and Landy Inc. Since 1970 Michael (Mike) Landy has been engaged in the marketing and sales of beef, primarily boxed and boneless beef. With over 30 years of experience in the meat industry he provides customers with, what some customers say is, invaluable know-how and advice. Mr. Landy states that his company’s most important asset is the trust his customers have in him and Landy Beef.
In 1984, Mike Landy and Howard Marcus formed an association between Landy Beef International and Marcus Food Company, of Wichita Kansas. In 1999, this association had its 15th anniversary. The collective experience and resources of the combined Landy/Marcus enterprise cannot be matched in the meat industry. On top of Landy’s nearly 30 years of industry experience, Howard Marcus has 35 years. Like Landy’s background, The Marcus family had interests in the beef slaughter and beef boning industries. The Marcus family was a primary owner of Kansas Beef Industries, which through merger became MBP/XL Corporation and is now known as Excel Corporation, which is the second largest source of meat products in the USA.
Our customers have the benefit of our wide reach for desired products. Marcus Foods and Landy Beef share the task of locating the products customers desire. Our network reaches from coast to coast, including Canada and Mexico. With offices in Wichita, Kansas; Vail, Colorado; and Baltimore, Maryland, Marcus Foods offers the Landy/Marcus customers enhanced buying power and transportation efficiency.
