Description

Chi Eta Phi Sorority Incorporated is an organization of registered professional nurses and nursing students founded in 1932. The Charter Chapter, Alpha, was organized at Freedmen’s Hospital in Washington, D. C., with the two-fold purpose of elevating the plane of nursing and increasing interest in the field of nursing.

Lambda Eta Chapter located in Dallas-Fort Worth was chartered October 11, 1986. The chapter was organized when Carol Kelly, a member from Alpha Chi Chapter, Nashville, moved to the metroplex, met Glenda Daniels and began discussing Chi Eta Phi Sorority. They devised a plan to recruit registered nurses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to discuss the sisterhood/brotherhood and the sorority’s motto: “Service for Humanity”.

After reviewing guidelines for a chapter charter, it was decided by signatures of twelve registered nurses to form a chapter in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. These twelve registered nurses were:
