The pool was opened on the 29th May 1972 by the Chairman of the Lampeter School Old Pupils Association, Cllr W. S. Watkins B.A., J.P. The swimming pool was the realisation of the dreams, co-operative effort and the generosity of the people of the district. It enhanced peoples leisure time and provided an excellent venue for swimming education.
