Angelo Lagonia: My three children have always helped me in my business starting very young just spending time with me at "dad's office". But when they became teenagers, both of my daughters worked in the office after school and on weekends answering the phone and greeting visitors in our model homes. At three years of age my son walked the houses under construction with me on a regular basis and now at the age of 17 during school breaks Angelo Jr. continues to work in our subdivisions. It is my belief that one of the keys to success is to learn a business from the ground up. All three of my children have learned the construction business with this hands on approach. However, in 1996 Lagonia Homes truly became a family-run business when my daughter, Brandi, began building houses with me on a full time basis. Later her husband, William, also joined us and is now a Superintendent of one of our subdivisions. My other daughter, Wendee, is married with two small children and she spends her days as a mother and homemaker, however, when I need her help at the office I can still count on her to be here.
I tell you this so that you will understand that I am a family man with children and responsibilities not unlike yourself and I experience the same life descisions as you do. I also know that the purchase of a new home whether it is your very first home, a larger home to fit your families' growing needs, your dream home, or a home that may be smaller but designed for an empty nest, each purchase is based on many things emotional and financial.
