In the early 1900s, large sailing ships were the uncrowned kings of the ocean, dominating the growing trade. The transportation of goods presented more of a challenge than finding a market for them, and there was a wide range of goods available in all parts of the world. Steamships had been invented towards the end of the 19th century and had rapidly grown in number. Good seamanship was a critical part of doing good business.

- Mechatronics sells electric and electro-mechanical components and offers customised production of cable harnesses as well as electric connection systems.
- Communications offers products, systems and services in digital image transmission/ technical security and acess as well as software and services for Computer Aided Design, CAD.
- Lagercrantz is active in eight countries in Northern Europe and in China. the Group has revenue of approximately SEK 2.2 billion and has about 800 employees. The Company's shares are listed on OMX Nordic Exchange since 2001.
