- The Lomita Station Disaster Communications Service is an element of the Los Angeles County Disaster Communications Service (DCS). It is a volunteer organization made up of Amateur Radio Operators, administered by the Sheriff's Department for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. The responsibility of D.C.S., as authorized under County Ordinance, is to provide volunteer disaster relief communication for the citizens of Los Angeles County. The Lomita DCS covers the Cities of Lomita, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and Torrance.
