Founded in 1920 by the suffragists who led the fight for voting rights for American women, the League of Women Voters has long been rooted in the basic principles of democracy. The League of Women Voters of Texas was established in 1919 and LWV Denton began in 1961. A lot has changed over the years - the candidates, the issues and the political climate. What hasn't changed is the central role citizens like you continue to play in our ability to influence public policy and bring about change.
