History

A little over ten years ago an opportunity was presented to bring a Christian music radio station to Central Iowa. We had no idea how incredibly Christian music was going to grow, but God knew and was way ahead of us. So, with a few couples who had a heart to reach out in a positive way to our community, we took our first steps in learning about what was available in music, building a quality radio station, raising money for the effort, and building a Q Family to support the plan.

We were not prepared for the creative and wonderful ways God moved to establish Q99.5 KZZQ. Here are a few highlights:

Together we prayed for a signal. This would not be easy, as all locations on the FM dial were taken. We approached the owners of one of the few remaining privately owned FM stations in our area and they agreed to sell to our nonprofit group. We would only find out later that this was a brief "window" of opportunity. Stations like Q99.5 KZZQ are simply not available in today's market because large companies have bought all such stations as ours and added them to their "stables." Q99.5 KZZQ was meant to be a permanent "God-asset"...and by His grace it always will be!
