KSWader was started completely by accident - well almost. Could you imagine that it all started with an armadillo? Here is the story of how we all began.

KSWader was formed at the end of 2000 after the first Kansas City Wade Fair. Ed and Bev Rucker hosted the Fair in May 2000 at the Brass Armadillo Antique Mall. A couple of weeks before the fair, a new couple joined the WadeWhimsies e-Group message board with the simple question. You know the question that everyone starts with before their houses are overfilled with Wade - "Where can I find Red Rose Tea in the Kansas City area?" Ed replied to Brian & Judi Morris with info where they were able to purchase the tea and also mentioned that there was a Wade Fair in their hometown in a couple of weeks and they should attend. We emailed back and forth and they volunteered (suckers!) to help with setting up the tables and such.

Before the fair started, Brian was not a collector - Judi was. He could be heard, "If Judi wants to collect these little Whimsies, what's it going to hurt? I mean they're only a few dollars, don't take up to much space and if it makes her happy..." That was until the fair when he saw Irish Porcelain and that changed everything. Brian became a collector too instead of just the husband that drives the wife to the Wade Fair.
