- Did you know that cutting down a tree was a "green" thing to do. It is if you're cutting down a Christmas tree at Kringle's. You see Christmas trees are a renewable resource. They convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, provide habitat for wildlife, and prevent soil erosion. We think they are just pretty to look at on the farm as well. Since it takes about 8 to 10 years for us to grow a standard tree, we have to have 8 to 10 trees growing in various stages for each tree you cut. Just the trees on our farm convert enough carbon dioxide to oxygen each year to support over a hundred people! When finished with your real tree it can be recycled into mulch or sunk in a lake for fish habitat. Many of our towns and parks will take your tree for no charge for this very reason.
