The Alice Krige Home Page
Description
I hope that those of you who stumbled across this Web site find whatever it is you're looking for, and if not...drop me a line and let me know what it is you'd like to see. As I've stated, my main purpose in creating this site was to learn the basics about building Web pages (my apologies to Alice Krige for using her name and persona as a part of that learning process). After accomplishing this, my focus turned to that of making this site as accurate and informative as possible. I have no interest in creating a slick and professional site, but I hope you find what I've created to be unique, informative and useful (HBO and many others have found the biography I wrote extremely useful...too bad they don't mention the source). Also, unlike some of the more recent Alice Krige sites that have popped up, this one is not Star Trek or Borg inspired/related. Yes, the Borg Queen was a high profile role for Ms. Krige, but it's just one of many roles in a 20+ year career. Hope you enjoy learning more about this fact as you explore my site!
Six years ago I knew absolutely nothing about building Web pages, but I saw an ad for "free home pages" one day and decided to give it a try. Through trial and error I've learned a lot since then, but admittedly still know very little. So how does Alice Krige figure into all of this? Well, this site could have easily had the Irish rock group, U2, as its subject. I've been a huge fan for over twenty years, but unfortunately for me about a million other people (no exaggeration) already beat me to it. In fact it seemed that even artists that I'd never heard of had their own dot-coms, as well as numerous other Web sites devoted to them. For Alice Krige, however (another artist whose work I've enjoyed since the early 1980s), there seemed to be only one site available at the time ("Talby's Alice Krige Home Page"...a site that no longer exists). Therefore, choosing Alice Krige as a subject seemed like a fairly logical choice for a novice like myself. By this I mean that there are (gratefully) not a lot of Alice Krige sites out there to make me feel woefully inadequate. Besides, it seemed rather sad and unfair to me that someone who has worked steadily in film, theatre and television for over twenty years should be so ignored and underappreciated as Alice Krige seems to be.
