Description
Brian Kratzer has been a photojournalist since 1985. He is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and has worked for newspapers in Kansas, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Missouri. His images have won him statewide and national recognition with awards from the Pictures of the Year contest, Missouri Press Association contest and NPPA clip contests. Brian was also selected to participate in the prestigious Missouri Photojournalism Workshop.
Since moving to Columbia in 1996, Brian has worked as a photojournalist for the Columbia Daily Tribune and Missouri Life Magazine. He also taught an advanced photography course at MU's School of Journalism for two years. He will complete his master's degree in photojournalism in May 2004. Last year, he was awarded a grant by the School of Journalism to support his documentary project on Missouri's Century Farms.
Currently, Brian works as the photo editor at the Columbia Daily Tribune. He has been photographing weddings for five years. and prefers to limit the number of weddings he shoots to about 15 a year so that he maintains a creative approach.
