Kitsch In Sync :: Performances

Description

Kitsch In Sync is a committed and familial band of comedians out to make you laugh through the wonders of short-form improv comedy. At the end of the night, if we've done our job right, people are left with a fleeting, momentary respite from their empty relationships, unfulfilling jobs, and hopeless, meaningless lives. Hopefully the audience feels okay, too.

Kitsch In Sync was founded in late 1998 by Adam Williams, a veteran of Improv Boston. His goal has been to create a welcoming troupe that relies on chemistry and group learning as much as individual talent. In late 1999, Kitsch in Sync began performing publicly at the Boston Film & Video Foundation. KIS has migrated through many venues in the interim, including the Out of the Blue Gallery, the Zeitgeist Gallery, and Green Street Studios, all in Cambridge. We have also done private performances and workshops for college students and faculty, cancer survivors, bar mitzvahs, and schoolchildren. Ken Grout was the troupe's 2nd artistic director from 2003 to 2005 and Mo Lotman currently holds that position.

We are proud to have lent our talents to several charitable causes. On January 7, 2005 we turned our show into an impromptu fundraiser for the tsunami victims and raised $1000. We have also supported the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and Give Us Your Poor. Kitsch in Sync continues to undertake joint performances with other comedy troupes and headlines one show every month. As the group has matured and grown, more and more audience members have been drawn to the joy and expressiveness that comes out on stage every month. It has been a pleasure welcoming them since November of 2003 to a venue deserving of our collective dedication, the Puppet Showplace Theatre in Brookline.
