About Kiss Me, Stace
Kiss Me, Stace is a fashion, shopping and shoe blog, with numerous topics that expand all the time. It started in December of 2004 as a shoe blog with reviews and “preety” pics. It has grown to feature some of the best blog writing, The Rules(*TM), occasional news, must-have products, preety designer pics; like Manolo Blahniks, and what to avoid; bad fashion & the Walk of Shame(*TM). There is so much to post about, and I’m so meticulous, that coming back to read should always be interesting.
The name is an homage to a television series here in America (there’s also a British version) that pushed my love of fashion over the edge to an obsession. TLC’s “What Not to Wear” features Stacy London and Clinton Kelly. Naturally, I chose the female to honour. The name sounds a bit quirky, and most won’t get the joke, but at least it will sound smooth and familiar to the ear, as a pun on “Kiss Me, Kate” (the musical [based on a Shakespeare play!]) (Why, all good writers pun, didn’t you know that? Just look at our other icon, Sarah Jessica and her character, Carrie. Oh, I HAD to fit her in, here, somehow!)
