Kirkwood High School head football coach Larry Frost has announced his retirement effective Dec. 21, 2009. Frost joined the Kirkwood School District as a physical education teacher and head varsity football coach in 2004. He led the Pioneers to the Missouri Class 6 Semifinals in 2004 and 2005, advancing to the Class 5 State Championship in 2006 and the State Quarterfinals in 2007. Frost coached the 100th anniversary Turkey Day Game in 2007 with Kirkwood defeating Webster Groves 49-7.
