Description
The Kingston Greens represent the Green Party of Ontario and the Green Party of Canada in the Kingston electoral district. The financial and political obligations of the party are met by the members of the executive with a great deal of help from local members and volunteers.
We believe that government can and should maintain its integrity while serving the people. This is a crucial point, one which isn’t highlighted enough in today’s politics; if the ruling party cannot be counted on to act according to their principles, then the people can never be certain of what they will be getting when they vote a party into government. Governance with integrity is the cornerstone of a democracy. This is the Green Party’s starting point – no broken promises.
We believe that the first concern of government ought to be the health and well-being of all of its citizens. This ‘well-being’ does not consist only of economic prosperity, of course; it includes intangibles such as education, safety, and happiness to name but a few.
