Description
My name is Tisha Kiku Mailelaulii Woytenko. I first started this business in January 2002 making and selling my handmade greeting cards and crafts to local retailers in Hawaii and expanded from there. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hawaii Pacific University in the field of Humanities. During my metriculation, I studied Art History and grew to appreciate cultural expressions in art. I feel Kiku Kami is an expression of my own multicultural background: Hawaiian, Japanese, Filipino, German, Irish, Scottish and Cherokee. My son and daughter have 11 nationalities and their cuties!
Some ask if I trained or learned under someone, but I did not. All of my designs are inspired totally from God, created at my little desk, in our little apartment, in Hawaii. I can't say all the origami folds are mine, but they are common folds known to the origami community. All the graphic design on the site and my business, however, is. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to share my creativity with you in this way. I can't imagine doing anything else more creative, fun and happy (except for raising my five year old son, newborn daughter and spending time with my husband fishing for ulua and camping.) Therefore, if you receive one of my cards, know that I created it with the happiest spirit and with lots of love to pass on to you or your loved ones.
I could not have imagined that my business would evolve in this way and look forward to seeing what else God has in store for me and my family. Although I have had some college training in photography and design, most of it was learned from all of our customers desires for the best and most unique product. All of my designs are enhanced by artistic training and start with a blank paper and lots of input from customers. You are an important part of our success, and I thank you dearly for your support.
