Description
The Comedy Club teaches children to write and perform their own stand-up comedy as an after school program at Boys & Girls' Clubs in Los Angeles.
We do this in class, which is held twice a week at both the Burbank and the West Valley clubs. Each child is given the opportunity to take the microphone and perform. Jokes begin as stories and observations. Together, we
turn these ideas into comedy material. Members of the class are encouraged to help the performer think of possible punch lines. So each child in the class is called upon to participate, whether he or she is performing or listening.
