Kinetics Adult Fitness, located in KIDSPORTS, is a Family Fitness facility located in Western Massachusetts in Hadley, between Northampton and Amherst. The Pioneer Valley is known for its excellent academic resources with 5 colleges (Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Amherst, UMass and Hampshire) in the near vicinity. It is also known as a welcoming area, open to diversity.
Our philosophy is to help children and adults feel good about themselves and the world around them. Kidsports of Hadley will create an environment of tolerance for all people. Sports and fitness activities are perfect opportunities to teach and model respect and appreciation for people regardless of ethnicity, language, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, class background, physical ability, age or size.
Melinda grew up in Norton, MA, and was a varsity athlete at Norton High School in basketball, field hockey, and track. She graduated in 1982 with a B.S. in Physical Education/Sociology from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. After college she owned a restaurant in Ithaca called Strange Paradise Cafe specializing in low fat, low cholesterol meals. After 3 years in that business she sold her operation and became a massage therapist, moved to Austin Texas for a couple of hot years, and specialized in Sports and Neuromuscular Massage. Her dream since college had always been to own her own health club, so two children and four years later, having missed the challenge of business, Melinda designed and opened Kidsports of Hadley, a licensed Kidsports facility. The goal of Kidsports is to bring families together in a safe and noncompetitive atmosphere, to have fun, get exercise, and to spend quality time with each other!
