Description
Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Kevin attended college at Michigan Technological University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and received his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from MTU in 1993. While at MTU he was involved with the Army ROTC as a non-contracted cadet, the Michigan Tech Skydiving Club, and Eta Kappa Nu & Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies.
After completing grad school, Kevin's new job brought him to Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. While living in the Madison area, he was a member of the Four Lakes Scuba Club for 11 years, and for several years was active with the Hoofer Scuba Club. Some of his dive destinations have included Cozumel, Mexico; The Bahamas; The Bay Islands of Honduras; Belize; and Truk Lagoon, Micronesia - the location of a massive World War II naval air attack called Operation Hailstone.
From 1996 to 2005, Kevin served as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician with the Milton Fire Department, and was the recipient of his department's Firefighter of the Year award in 2002. He holds Wisconsin state certifications as a firefighter, fire inspector, and driver/operator for fire engines (pumpers) and aerial ladder trucks.
